Boccia is a Paralympic sport derived from the popular Italian game of Bocce. It is played indoors with a set of 13 hand-made leather balls on a smooth and flat surface.
The sport can be played by individuals (1 vs. 1), pairs (2 vs. 2) or teams (3 vs. 3). Josh competes in individual and pairs divisions in international tournaments.
The goal of Boccia is to roll your coloured balls closest to the white target ball (jack ball) as possible. The scoring is similar to that of curling - for every ball closer than the opponent's closest ball, one point is scored. After 4 ends in individual and pairs play - or 6 ends in team play - the winner is determined by the higher score.

Various strategies in a Boccia match consist of blocking, placing, busting and Josh's personal favourite: yelling at the boccia balls.
